My Baby
My daughter, Brooklyn Sara, was born at 28.4 weeks. She weighed a mere 1lb 13oz at birth. Brooklyn has a strong spirit. She did not require the vent when she was born, but was given oxygen for several days. She stayed in the NICU for 7wks 2days; she came home on August 31, 2010.

Brooklyn had to be delivered early because my doctor was unable to get my blood pressure under control ( I am a kidney transplant patient). I was so afraid for her - she was so small, but she did so well. She is now 4 months old, weighs 10 lbs, and is 21 in long. In respect to her development, she does well with head control, she doesn't show any interest in toys yet and is just starting to smile with us. These are a few of the milestones she is expected to reach at her age. As a parent of two (Brooklyn has a 7 yr old brother who adores her), it's breathtaking to be apart of the miracle that is your children's life.
Advice
- Be patient; they will grow and develop at their own pace. Our job now is to love them and give them the tools and engagement to help the process along.
