Cheryl Bird, RN is a nurse in a tertiary level neonatal intensive care unit at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she works with premature infants of all ages.
Cheryl is a full-time NICU nurse. She works in a 20-bed tertiary level NICU, caring for premature infants and sick full-term babies. She works with nonsurgical infants at all levels of wellness, including infants on ventilators, with central and umbilical IV lines, and more.
Cheryl is a registered nurse in the state of Virginia. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Mary Washington College, and an Associates of Applied Science in nursing from Germanna Community College. She is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Old Dominion University.

I love my work in the NICU. I have learned so much about strength and survivorship from the babies I've worked with and their loved ones. To work with preemies is a gift, and I am grateful to the families who have shared their precious babies with the NICU staff.
